Merritt Island Survival Swim
*Swim*Float*Swim*
Welcome to Merritt Island Survival Swim, where we take pride in giving children life-saving skills along with the confidence and competence to enjoy the aquatic environment. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, and we believe that the best prevention is early intervention. Merritt Island Survival Swim not only provides the safest swim lessons for each individual child, but also sets students up for a lifetime of loving the water.
Lessons
All lessons are one-on-one allowing special attention to each child's individual needs. Students come to lessons 4 days a week (M-Th), for 10 minutes at a time, for an average of 7 weeks. As lessons are student led, some children may finish earlier while others may need a little extra time to complete the desired skill set.
Swim Float Swim
12 Months- 4 Years Old
*and walking independently for 8 weeks
Students older than 12 months old will learn to swim-float-swim. This means that they will learn to swim with their face down in the water, roll over to float and rest, and roll back over to continue swimming.
*With safety being my first priority, if your child is not quite ready for the full sequence they will learn to swim-float-stay.
Float
6 Months+
Students as young as 6 months old will learn how to float independently. They will also learn how to roll into a floating position from several presentations simulating falling into a body of water.
Refreshers
To Keep Skills Fresh
All students are recommended to come back for refresher lessons once a year, or as needed, after completing the swim-float-swim sequence. At these young ages, they are growing so fast and we want to make sure that their skills match their bigger bodies throughout the years.

Featured Testimonial
We drove 45min north for our 2.5 year old to swim with Coach Kasey and it was SO worth it. We had done British Swim School from 6months to 18 months but I did not feel my daughter had any of the skills necessary to survive. In fewer than 20 one-on-one lessons in just four short weeks my daughter is now swimming like a mermaid and floating like a champion. I initially had major reservations about the methodology being too aggressive or even traumatizing. But I was 100% wrong to listen to those rumors. It was so gentle. My child woke up each morning SO excited for her next lesson. Most importantly, it works.
